Biography
Ms. Jo Tee has made a significant mark in the field of music education through her diverse ventures. She founded Jo Tee Piano Studio in 2002. Subsequently, she co-founded Amadeus Music Academy Pte Ltd in 2019, building on her accumulated experiences and extending her reach to new location. As part of her continuous dedication to musical education, Ms. Tee currently serves as the owner of JC Piano @ Orchard. She holds a Master’s Degree in Music Education from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore, Licentiate of the London College of Music (LLCM) and Diploma of The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (DipABRSM).
Ms. Tee’s teaching career spans across all levels, from pre-school to diploma programs. Her experience includes coaching in primary and secondary schools, where she was involved in planning and implementing music curriculum. Noteworthy institutions she has collaborated with include Anglo Chinese School Junior, Xinghua Primary School, Kuo Chuan Presbyterian Primary School, Woodlands Primary School, and Orchid Park Secondary School.
Ms. Tee is focused on nurturing the next generation of music learners. Beyond her teaching responsibilities, she extends her expertise by mentoring new teachers at Amadeus Music Academy, contributing to the enhancement of their teaching skills.
Under Ms. Tee’s guidance, many of her students have achieved significant success. They have showcased their talents in various venues and masterclasses, securing prizes in piano competitions. Notably, her students have excelled not only in examinations but also in advancing their musical training through gifted young musician programs.
One notable aspect of Ms. Tee’s contributions is her entrepreneurial and creative spirit. This is evident in her conceptualization of teaching ideas, leading to the creation and global sale of the EasyScales visual guides—an innovative and interactive approach to music education.
In 2020, Ms Tee was invited to be on the judging panel for the 5th Steinway Youth Piano Competition. At the Global I-Piano Competition 2020 (全球“云知音”网络公益钢琴大赛 2020), she received the award of “Excellent Piano Teacher”. In 2023, Ms Tee was conferred with the prestigious title of The Steinway Teacher & Educational Partner (STEP), highlighting her dedication in the realm of music education.
Her mentors notably include the late Mr Ong Lip Tat, Mr Frank DeMeglio, and Ms Lea Hyo Kang.
